Posted by on Sep 5, 2016 in Featured, Uncategorized, Website | Comments Off

NBTA Bulk Tanker Day will be held in Sydney this year and you are invited to attend on Thursday 15th September at Eastern Creek in Sydney.

The format will be familiar to those who have been before, including presentations from:

- RMS, EPA NSW and Fire and Rescue NSW on the key tanker incidents in the last 12 months

- NHVR on heavy vehicle inspection manual

- SLP program update

EPA NSW will outline their pilot tanker inspection program that will be launched soon and will cover tankers in NSW. This is a very significant initiative and will see tankers comprehensively inspected for ADG and AS2809 related rules. We will run an inspection class at the event so people can better understand what will be involved.

Maintenance master classes and an emergency response exercise will also be conducted.

The day will wrap up with a discussion of the year ahead and a call for a national approach to tanker initiatives as well as the establishment of key measures for gauging progress towards improved safety standards.

This is the 8th Bulk Tanker Day and the most significant yet with every key agency involved. It is a must attend if you are to understand where bulk tanker regulation is headed.
